Oranges, blood, 1 Kg pack

Oranges, blood, 1 Kg pack

Origin: South Africa

  • Blood oranges tend to be a bit smaller than other types of oranges, with a thick, pitted skin that may or may not have a reddish blush, but they look like regular oranges from the outside. The inside flesh is brilliantly dark pink, maroon, or even dark blood red. Blood oranges grow on citrus trees in warm, temperate climates. Cara oranges are aromatic, juicy, and have a complex, sweet-tart flavor with notes of cranberry, blackberry, rose, and raspberry.

  • You can eat Cara Cara oranges fresh out-of-hand or juiced. And it's best to use them in raw applications such as in green salads, and fruit bowls, blended into smoothies or cocktails, or chopped and mixed into salsa. Cara Cara oranges can be juiced and made into jam, vinaigrettes, sauces, and used to flavor baked goods such as cookies, cakes, tarts, and muffins. Cara Cara oranges pair well with the following items: meats such as poultry, roast beef, and fish, seafood, arugula, parsley, mint, lavender, red onion, shallot, garlic, radish, cranberry, pear, avocado, pomegranate, walnut, and quinoa.

  • When you store Cara Cara oranges at room temperature they will keep them for 3-4 days. And up to two weeks when you store them in the refrigerator. The juice can be frozen in an airtight container for up to six months.
